Why I’m Running

Why I'm Running

When I was a kid, I was given a coin commemorating Ronald Reagan’s inauguration, which happened to fall on my birthday. From that day, I was convinced of two things: I’m a Republican and I’m meant to serve this country.

Since then, I’ve lost races and won races. I’ve learned a lot of lessons. My passion for conservatism and love of my country have deepened.

It’s an honor to serve the people of Mesquite. I’ve loved every minute of it, even during the difficult times. I’ve taken a stand for the things I believe in, even when it’s not popular. People may not always agree, but I’m proud that I have become known to stick to my principles.

Passing laws, ordinances, and the like is part of being an elected representative (Although, I’m more proud to tout all the legislation I CUT, or didn’t pass, while in office!) but using the bully pulpit to protect and promote conservative ideals, is just as important.

Treasured conservative ideals like patriotism, loving this country, freedom of speech, the 2nd amendment, capitalism, entrepreneurialism, the rule of law, and protecting Americans and their rights.

Whether it’s from the City Council or the State Legislature, I will represent the people I serve and conservative values.

My dad has remarked, on more than one occasion, “If you worked as hard at something that paid you, as you do at politics, you’d be rich!”

Well, I’m not getting rich, but I found my calling and, from what I’ve seen, that’s a pretty rare thing.
