Another Nevada Audit Update

(Annie Black) – I know the issue of getting an election audit similar to the one going on in Arizona here in Nevada is of great interest to folks.

Thought this blurb from Rasmussen Reports would be something you’d be interested in…

“The Nevada situation is a bit complicated. I hope I can explain it adequately, since I’m no expert on Nevada’s state constitutional laws.

“Nevada has some of the best citizen protections written into its Constitution out of all 50 states, although those protections are rarely used. They have some very specific rights and protections when it comes to petitioning their state government for a redress of grievances.

“A non-partisan group of citizens has served Democrat Governor Steve Sisolak, Democrat Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske and Democrat Speaker of the House Jason Frierson with notarized Affidavits of Maladministration.

“If I’m understanding Nevada law correctly, these elected state officials must respond to the demands of the petitioners, otherwise they’re automatically found guilty of ‘Maladministration, Treason and Insurrection.’

The petitioners are demanding forensic audits of the 2020 election results in five Nevada counties. … Do the petitioners have any chance of succeeding? I’m not sure, as I’m just not familiar enough with Nevada law to make a guess on that.

“I do know, however, that the Nevada state officials are compelled under state law to respond to the petitioners through arbitration. They are also compelled by the accusations of Maladministration to either A) carry out a forensic audit in those five counties, or B) convince an arbitration court as to why they are not obligated to follow the Nevada Constitution in this instance.

“It’s an interesting tactic being deployed by the Nevada petitioners, to say the least, and we should wish them well.”

Wish them well, indeed.  Thank you, Bill Thompson of Annie’s Army, for forwarding this to me.

Coming up in the next AnnieGram…

The results of Question 5 from our BattleGround ’22 Election Survey: “What should I do in 2022?”

The responses were QUITE interesting. Stay tuned.

REQUEST FOR A GOOD CAUSE!

I received the following email last week and wanted to share it with Annie’s Army.  Any help you can give these folks would be greatly appreciated!

“My name is Steve Prentice and I work for the Nevada Department of Corrections.

“First of all, thank you for all of your hard work during the 81st Legislative session. If it is not too much trouble, I would like to ask for your support.  Sgt. Tim Struck (Commander for the NDOC Honor Guard) came to me with a challenge.  They have had the same uniforms for over 20 years. In addition, the uniforms are made of wool and are very hot.

“We are having a fireworks stand located at the corner of Buffalo and Cheyenne in Las Vegas at the Terrible’s gas station. We are holding a raffle to benefit the Honor Guard and had nearly everything donated.  Here is what would really help us out…

“We were hoping you could post something about our raffle on social media.  You see Annie, instead of us asking for $10,000 from the Legislature, we are raising the money ourselves.

“The Honor Guard represents our Department, the Stakeholders, and the Great State of Nevada at community events, funerals, school functions, and charity events. We just want the Honor Guard to look sharp!

“Raffle tickets are available June 28th – July 3rd with our drawing at 7pm on the 3rd.  Prizes are as follows:

    • 1st prize = $500 fireworks pack;
    • 2nd prize = $200 fireworks (buyers choice);
    • 3rd prize = $50 Smiths gift card.

“All prizes were donated. Raffle tickets cost $5 for 1 ticket, $10 for 3 tickets, or $20 for 8 tickets.”

FROM THE ANNIE-GRAM MAILBAG

“Annie, thank you so much for bringing the voting record of Republican (RINO) Assembly representatives to my/our attention. Many have voting records that absolutely UNACCEPTABLE.  Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you get re-elected.  Again, you are awesome!” – Ronnie Strothman, Henderson, NV

“Annie, we need more Annies, period. New, energized, take no 💩, fight for it, candidates. I’m not in your District but I so welcome your energy. (Assemblyman) P.K. O’Neil is a slug next to what we need!” – Colgan Gillis

“Thanks for the insight and for the names we do not need to vote for in upcoming elections. So many politicians hiding under their sheepskin posing as something they are not. I have lived in Clark County nearly 25 years now and you are the only elected official I remember who keeps a running dialogue of Nevada politics so we can stay informed. Thanks for all you do.” – Bettie Umland

“I wish more ‘Republicans’ understood what the primaries are really for, like you do.  The bloom has long been off the magic of incumbency.  The R behind a politician’s name should stand for Republican but too often is means RINO or riff-raff.  With your great leadership we can get this party cleaned up and back in the winner’s circle.” – Jim Falk, Churchill County

“A primary should be open to anyone who wishes to run.  However, as in the case of last year’s CD4 primary there were about 5 of the 8 candidates who realistically should have dropped out or not run in the first place, thus saving money and effort for the general election.  In other words, get the deadwood out as soon as possible so the viable candidates can get busy.” – Bill Newyear, Pahrump

“Annie, you should run for State Sen. Joe Hardy’s seat.  You will win by a landslide.” – Kim Fergus

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“The GOP needs to elect more warriors. Not debutantes.” – Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO)

  1. I’ve given this a lot of thought. I realize you have done a lot of foundation-shaking in the NV Assembly, which needs it.
    BUT …
I escaped to Nevada from the DC Metro area, living just barely over the line (I had married a Marylander), at the top of 16th Street (ie, White House), in Silver Spring Maryland. I lived in the infamous MD LD 20 (Maryland Legislative District), was its acting GOP District Chair, which is downtown Silver Spring and Takoma Park, the blue nuclear free zone. That is the adopted stomping ground of Congressional “representative” Jamie Raskin, the leader of the Progressive movement in the US (he moved from DC itself into a place where he could be elected and wield power, without EVER changing where he “worshiped”, where he sent his kids to school, where he worked prior to election to MD CD8.
    Lead-in over.
There is a group of fairly young “loudmouthed” women in Congress, well, two groups. The Progressive one is Raskin’s baby and its members are embarrassing themselves and will (with prayers) not survive the next election cycle. In 2020 quite a number of Conservative women were elected(&reelected), a few we hear about routinely in the press (as they try to destroy them, much as was done to Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell in prior years).
Nicole Malliotakis & Claudia Tenney, NY; Maria Salazar & Kat Cammack, FL; Beth Van Duyne, TX; Nancy Mace, SC; Lauren Boebert, CO; Michelle Steele, CA; Marjorie Taylor Greene, GA; Mary Miller, IL; Victoria Spartz, IN; Ashley Hinson & Mariannette Miller-Meeks, IA; Lisa McClain, MI; Michelle Fischbach, IN; Yvette Herrell, NM; Stephanie Bice, OK; Diana Harshbarger, TN form an unofficial Loudmouthed Women’s Caucus (tongue-in-cheek here).
They could use another member, possibly representing NV CD4?
