Finally, a Conservative Representative You Can Actually Find…and TRUST!

In the last AnnieGram I laid out “Black’s Blueprint” – seven steps the Legislature should take to help Nevadans rebuild their lives and businesses after the #SisolakShutdown.

But there are still a lot of issues the Legislature needs to deal with aside from those related to COVID-19.

So I thought, in these final days before the election, I’d share some “Where I Stand” positions on a number of them…

• I support requiring a valid, photo ID before casting a ballot
• I oppose changing our elections to “all-mail” balloting
• I support a prohibition on government employees serving in the Legislature
• I support requiring at least two government regulations be repealed for every new one adopted
• I support authorizing citizens with concealed-carry permits to carry their weapons on school grounds
• I support reauthorizing and fully funding Education Savings Accounts (ESA’s) and Opportunity Scholarships
• I support “merit pay” for exceptional teachers while making it easier to fire incompetent ones
• I support banning “sanctuary cities” statewide
• I support allowing you to buy less-expensive health insurance policies across state lines
• I oppose the creation of a “mileage tax” on your car
• I support closing the “tax restraint” loophole by requiring a 2/3 super-majority vote of the people for any tax hikes the Legislature puts on the ballot
• I oppose charging sales tax for your Internet purchases from out-of-state companies
• I support creating a permanent “ANTI-Appropriations Committee” in the Legislature focused exclusively on cutting spending
• I support requiring that Nevada’s checkbook be posted online so you can quickly and easily see exactly what your tax dollars are being spent on, to whom and by how much
• I support giving the governor the same line-item veto authority that 44 other state governors already have
• I oppose government mandates on private businesses, including wage and benefit mandates
• I support a requirement that all bills be posted online for at least 72 hours before being voted on, without amendment
• I support a requirement that all campaign donations of $500 or more be reported online within 72 hours of receipt
