(Annie Black) – The Empire Struck back!
I’m having my staff email you this short AnnieGram, as I’m still on the floor of the Assembly.
This afternoon, the Democrats barred Republican Assemblywoman Jill Dickman from entering the House Chamber. She then tweeted…
“Just escorted off Assembly floor 4 not wearing a mask even after CDC guidelines change. I refuse to share my private med info, particularly with politicians. No vaccine passports in US or NV except the people’s house. Ridiculous! It’s time to stop making COVID a political issue!!”
Fortunately, I was able to make it into the Chamber. However, when the session started the first thing the Democrats did was immediately vote to strip me of my right to vote on bills or speaking on the floor. Here’s how it went down…
Democrat Majority Leader Teresa Benitez-Thompson started the session off by making the following accusation as a “point of order”…
“The Assemblywoman of District 19 is in violation of Assembly Standing Rule 150.”
Democrat Assembly Speaker Jason Frierson responded…
“Assembly Standing Rule 150 requires a member comply with the guidance of all the CDC. All unvaccinated members must wear a face covering while in a public space and I will certainly put that question to the body. The question for the body is: Is Assemblywoman Black in violation of Assembly Standing Rule 150?”
The vote was all 26 Democrats voting “yes” and all 16 Republicans voting “no.”
Speaker Frierson then declared…
“The motion passes. Assemblywoman Black, the House has found you guilty of breaching Assembly Standing Rule 150. You may not vote or speak on the floor or in committee except to explain and apologize for the breach.”
Now here’s the REALLY outrageous thing (as if that’s not enough!)…
THEY HAD NO IDEA IF I’D BEEN VACCINATED OR NOT!
They didn’t ask. I didn’t tell.
So they accused me of violating the rules without proof either way…and never even gave me an opportunity to respond to the accusation on the floor before taking the vote.
A verdict and sentence without trial or defense!
This is America?
More later. Just wanted to give you a heads up. But trust me, this ain’t over.
