(Annie Black) – I received the following email announcement late Friday evening. I’ve edited it slightly and replaced the name of the actual business involved with the fake name “NevadaMart.” I’ll reveal the actual name at the end.
You might want to sit down for this one…
“Now that all of the people working in NevadaMart have had an opportunity to receive a vaccine for the COVID-19 virus, we are able to begin opening the store to the public. To ensure the safety of everyone to the greatest extent possible, entry to the store will be limited.
Beginning on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, members of the public may make an online appointment through the electronic reservation system on NevadaMart’s website to shop on or after Thursday, April 15, 2021. In addition, members of the public may contact a store manager beginning Tuesday, April 13, 2021, to set up an appointment to shop in person in the store on or after Thursday, April 15, 2021.
Appointments to enter NevadaMart must be received at least 24 hours in advance. The number of people who will be able to make an appointment to shop will be limited to a specified number per store department, which will be based upon the current COVID-19 restrictions applicable at the time of shopping. In addition, each store manager will be authorized to bring in one person per day to shop in person in NevadaMart.
When a manager approves a shopping visit with the person, a store employee will enter the appointment into the electronic reservation system. Therefore, the process for making appointments will be a little different depending on the purpose for the visit to NevadaMart.
Any visitor to NevadaMart must agree to abide by certain safety protocols. First, before entering the store, each shopper must agree to submit to a free COVID-19 test. The shopper will be tested at the mobile units located in the parking lot across the street from the store.
Testing will begin at 6 a.m. each day and end at 2 p.m., except on Wednesdays when testing will continue until 6 p.m. A person may schedule an appointment for testing. Information concerning how to make an appointment for testing at this site will be posted and kept current on NevadaMart’s website.
If a shopper is fully vaccinated, the person may, in lieu of testing, present his or her vaccine information for verification. If verified, the visitor will not be required to be tested before entering the store. A stick-on pass to enter the store will be provided once a shopper has completed the COVID-19 test and has received a negative test result or has had vaccination information verified.
The pass is valid only for the day on which it is issued. Information concerning how to have vaccine information verified will be posted and kept current on NevadaMart’s website.
After receiving the pass to enter NevadaMart, the shopper may proceed directly to the front of the store or to the parking lot area immediately across from the east entrance to the store to pass through a metal detector. Once in the store, visitors must comply with all posted COVID-19 safety precautions.
In addition to the above protocols, we have been working with the Department of Health and Human Services to offer Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 Vaccination to all people in the area, including those visiting the NevadaMart. Any person can make an appointment and be vaccinated here.
These vaccinations will be provided free of charge in the mobile units across the street from the store, next to where the COVID-19 testing is provided. Beginning Monday, April 12, 2021, vaccinations will be provided on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. If an appointment is not available, be sure to check back as more appointments will open up.
We look forward to welcoming people back to NevadaMart and appreciate the cooperation everyone has shown so that we can maintain a safe environment.
Pretty stupid, right? Now, here’s the kicker…
That announcement wasn’t for the reopening of a fictitious public retail store…
It was from Brenda Erdoes, Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau, announcing the rules for reopening the Legislature…
The “People’s House.”
True insanity, compounded by absurdity.
Somehow I’m guessing you’re not exactly jumping for joy right now.
I know I’m not.
QUICK HITS
* Yesterday was “deadline day.” Any bills that didn’t receive a committee hearing are now “dead.” Not surprisingly and as expected, the Democrats killed all my bills. But trust me, this isn’t the end! Stay tuned.
* The Assembly passed out of committee AB351, the death-with-dignity bill, with NO recommendation. It will now go to the full Assembly for a vote. Because there are still a lot of unanswered questions and legitimate concerns raised by many of you, I voted “no.” We’ll now have to see if the bill’s sponsor addresses and fixes those concerns before I cast a final vote.

QUOTES OF THE DAY
“We live in the freest country on planet earth. The rest of the world envies our freedoms. Meanwhile, we have a political party that is laser-focused on destroying our freedoms. It is not only shocking, but very dangerous.”
“Our Second Amendment rights are being trampled on by a man who can’t even form coherent sentences.”
“Can we dispose with this theory that Joe Biden is being controlled by the radical left and start acknowledging that Joe Biden IS the radical left?”
“This is not Obama’s third term. This is essentially Hugo Chavez’s first term.”
– Rep. Lauren Boebert
