(Teri Nehrenz | Mesquite Citizen Journal) – On Saturday, May 2, Mesquite residents showed up in droves to drive through the empty streets in vehicles displaying various signs telling Governor Sisolak to open Nevada and let people get back to work.
This is the second peaceful rally in Mesquite organized by Mesquite City Councilwoman Annie Black.
The rally began with a prayer led by Pastor Duke Tabor and the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the entire group singing all verses of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”
The first “Open Nevada” rally was attended by about 100 Mesquite residents along with some political hopefuls; this week there seemed to be almost double. Among them were Assemblyman Chris Edwards and Rebecca Wood who is running for US Congress in District 4 for Nevada.
Many local business owners were present as well as Nevada business owners who serve Mesquite area residents.
Sandy Robison owner of Robison Tactical spoke to the Mesquite Citizen Journal about how this is affecting her business and what customers are looking for these days.
